UPS Maintenance & Battery Replacement in Saudi Arabia(Riyadh, Jeddah & Dammam)
Uninterrupted power protects your servers, trading floors and critical equipment. Star House maintains UPS systems, batteries, static switches and PDUs with planned maintenance, load testing and fast battery replacement.
What's included
- UPS PPM, inspection and load testing
- Battery impedance testing, thermal survey and replacement (VRLA & lithium)
- Static switch, PDU and generator interface checks
- Capacity and discharge testing with full reports
- Safe disposal of end-of-life batteries
Why UPS systems fail — and how maintenance prevents it
Most UPS failures in Saudi buildings come down to three things: ageing batteries, heat and dust. Comms rooms and battery rooms that run warm shorten VRLA battery life sharply — as a rule of thumb, every 10 °C above 25 °C roughly halves it. Cooling fans and DC capacitors also wear out on a predictable schedule. Planned maintenance finds these problems while they are still cheap to fix, instead of during a power cut.
Our UPS maintenance visit, step by step
- Visual inspection and cleaning of the UPS, bypass and battery cabinets
- Event and alarm log review, settings and firmware check
- Input / output voltage, current, frequency and load measured on every phase
- Battery string check: float voltage, voltage per block, internal resistance (impedance) and terminal torque
- Thermal imaging of breakers, cables and battery connections
- Fan, filter and capacitor condition with a replacement plan
- Transfer test to static / maintenance bypass where the site allows
- Written report with all readings, risks and recommendations
UPS systems and batteries we look after
We maintain single-phase and three-phase online UPS systems of the brands commonly installed in Saudi offices and server rooms — such as Schneider Electric (APC), Vertiv (Liebert), Eaton, Riello, Socomec and Huawei — together with external battery cabinets and strings, static transfer switches (STS) and PDUs.
Battery replacement without downtime
When batteries reach end of life we plan the change around your operation. The UPS is put on maintenance bypass, or the load is carried by a redundant module, the strings are replaced and torqued, and the new batteries are tested before the load goes back on the UPS. Old batteries are taken off site for safe disposal.
Sectors we serve
We serve clients all over Saudi Arabia — mainly Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam — from our head office in Riyadh.
Frequently asked questions
How often should UPS batteries be replaced?
VRLA batteries usually need replacing every 3–5 years depending on temperature and load. Regular impedance testing shows exactly when — before a failure takes your power down.
What is included in a UPS preventive maintenance (PPM) visit?
Inspection and cleaning, log review, electrical measurements on every phase, battery voltage and impedance tests, thermal imaging of connections, a bypass transfer test where possible, and a written report with recommendations.
How often should a UPS be serviced?
Most manufacturers recommend at least two preventive maintenance visits a year, with quarterly battery checks for critical loads such as server rooms and trading floors.
Can you replace UPS batteries without shutting down our servers?
In most cases, yes — by using the maintenance bypass or a redundant UPS module so the load stays powered. We confirm the safest method during the site survey.
Do you supply the replacement batteries?
Yes. We supply batteries matched to your UPS model and the back-up time you need, install and test them, and dispose of the old batteries.
Do you offer an annual maintenance contract (AMC) for UPS & Battery Maintenance?
Yes. UPS & Battery Maintenance can be covered under a Star House AMC on its own or together with your other building systems in one single contract.
Which areas do you cover?
We serve clients all over Saudi Arabia — mainly Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam — from our head office in Riyadh.
